One such example is Pleme, the Croatian startup that creates sustainable dog beds from recycled polyurethane foam. In a quest to understand how its transition towards a more impact-positive business practice could fit within the ESG framework, and to prepare for future growth and upcoming EU regulations, Pleme collaborated with ConsciESG, to complete a full ESG assessment on 17 key themes across emissions, waste, water, DEI and the supply-chain. 
Following a four-month ESG assessment and reporting, Pleme’s transition to more impact-positive practices is reflected in their impressively high ConsciEGS Ante score of 22.26. The positive ConsciESG score is reflective of both their new “circular-economy-based” product strategy and also the concrete actions they are taking to make a difference. 

A key highlight of Pleme’s sustainability journey is their innovative approach to waste management. In 2024, they diverted 1.5 metric tons of waste, after repurposing polyurethane foam to create eco-friendly dog beds. This initiative not only prevents waste from ending up in landfills but also introduces a product that meets the growing demand for sustainable consumer goods.
